This year’s Financial Street Forum in Beijing was perfectly timed coming on the heels of China revealing its growth roadmap for the next five years, and beyond. The platform, which has now wrapped up, gave leading economists and financiers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the future of the country’s financial markets, a significant component of the global economy. CGTN reporter Chen Jiaqi spoke to Robin Xing, chief China economist at Morgan Stanley, to get his perspective on China’s tech self-reliance gains particularly in AI; Gene Ma, head of China Research at the Institute of International Finance, for his viewpoints on the consumer market; and Samuel Fischer, head of China Onshore Debt Capital Markets at Deutsche Bank, who expounded on the pace of capital market liberalization. Together, these developments paint a picture of a dynamic China where technological progress, consumption resilience and financial opening up are creating compelling opportunities for global investors.
