US VP JD Vance warns govt shutdown until Thanksgiving could be a ‘disaster’ for airline industry
U.S. Vice President JD Vance said on October 30 a prolonged government shutdown until Thanksgiving could lead to a “disaster” for the airline industry. “We want the aviation industry to work. It’s not going to work unless the Democrats reopen the government,” Vance told media after a roundtable with airline industry leaders. The meeting comes as the shutdown exacerbates pre-existing staffing shortages, forcing more than 63,000 air traffic controllers and Transportation Security Administration officers to work without pay.
