RBI simplifies bank nomination rules from November 2025!
The Reserve Bank of India has announced new rules on nominations for bank accounts, lockers, and safe custody items, effective November 1, 2025. The move aims to simplify processes, ensure faster access for heirs, and enhance transparency across banks. Under the Banking Laws (Amendment) Act, 2025, every bank must offer a nomination facility to customers, complete requests within three working days, and display nomination details on passbooks. The framework also extends benefits to proprietorship accounts for greater inclusion.
