The Union Cabinet has initiated the formation of the 8th Pay Commission (8CPC), setting the Terms of Reference. It is expected to be implemented from January 2026. The most significant benefit is for Level 1 to Level 6 employees, with salary hikes potentially ranging from 18% to 24%. Key changes include a revised Fitment Factor, which could raise the minimum basic salary from ₹18,000 to ₹34,560, along with increases in DA, HRA, and pension.
