Cyclonic storm Montha turned into a severe cyclonic storm on Tuesday morning. According to the Meteorological Department, between 29th and 31st October, due to the impact of Montha, there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in the south-eastern areas of Uttar Pradesh like Prayagraj, Varanasi, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Bhadohi etc. On Tuesday, good rain was recorded in the southern districts of UP, Sonbhadra, Varanasi as well as various areas of Bundelkhand. On Tuesday, the highest rainfall of 65 mm was recorded in Sonbhadra. After this, 51 mm rain was recorded in Jhansi of Bundelkhand and 48.2 mm rain was recorded in Orai.
