As Trump Plots War, Maduro Issues Dire Warning To ‘Traitors’ Who Join Foreign Imperialist Army
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has asked the Supreme Court of Justice to determine whether it is constitutional to strip Venezuelan nationality from citizens who support or join calls for a foreign military invasion of the country.
Citing Article 130 of Venezuela’s Constitution, Maduro said that citizens have the duty to defend the homeland, sovereignty, and national integrity, and that those who “join an imperialist army to invade Venezuela” should be considered traitors and lose their citizenship and documentation.
The move follows Vice President Delcy Rodríguez’s announcement that the government had filed a motion to revoke the citizenship of opposition figure Leopoldo López. Watch the video to find out more.
