The UK and Türkiye signed an agreement for the UK to supply 20 new Eurofighter Typhoon jets to Türkiye.
The deal was signed during Starmer’s visit to Ankara and equates to the largest UK fighter-jet export contract in almost a generation.
The programme supports UK production lines: the jets are manufactured by a consortium including the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain. Around 37% of production is in the UK, including final assembly at BAE Systems’ Warton and Samlesbury plants.
The UK government, led by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, has sealed a landmark £8 billion deal to supply 20 Eurofighter Typhoon jets to Turkey — marking the largest British fighter-jet export in nearly two decades. Signed in Ankara during Starmer’s visit with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the agreement bolsters NATO ties, secures thousands of UK defence jobs, and deepens UK-Turkey strategic cooperation.
