President Trump, who came to Korea, was warmly welcomed by our government with a customized protocol.
The highest order of our country, the Order of Mugunghwa, was awarded, and a special model of the Cheonmachong gold crown was also presented as a gift.
President Trump smiled broadly, showing his satisfaction.
Reporter Park Young-min has the details.

President Trump greeted with his signature gesture of clenching his fist.
The government protocol for welcoming a state guest was marked by great enthusiasm.
A 21-gun salute, symbolizing the highest honor, was fired, and a pop song used during Trump’s campaign was played.
The official welcoming ceremony was even more splendid.
President Trump was escorted by a traditional military band, and President Lee met him wearing a golden tie.
This reflects President Trump’s preference for gold.
The highlight was the ceremony for awarding the Order of Mugunghwa, the highest honor in South Korea.
It is the first time in history that the Order of Mugunghwa, featuring 190 don of gold and 110 don of silver, along with rubies and amethysts, has been awarded to a U.S. president.
This embodies the desire for a strong ROK-U.S. alliance.

[Trump/President of the United States: “I’d like to wear it right now. I will cherish it.”]
A model of the ‘Cheonmachong gold crown,’ symbolizing sanctity and strong authority, was also gifted, and President Trump repeatedly expressed his satisfaction.
[Trump/President of the United States: “It’s very special. Thank you so much.”]
There were also moments that seemed to reflect the ongoing U.S.-Korea tariff negotiations.
While greeting President Trump’s entourage, President Lee playfully tapped Commerce Secretary Lutnick, who is leading the tariff negotiations, on the arm to show familiarity.
Additionally, he was seen smiling broadly while whispering during a handshake with Jamieson Greer, the U.S. Trade Representative.
