Japan gifts Trump Abe’s putter; South Korea gives top medal, replica gold crown
South Korea welcomed US President Donald Trump on Wednesday (Oct 29) with a replica gold crown and the “Grand Order of Mugunghwa,” its highest decoration, as he arrived on the final leg of his Asia tour, which also included Malaysia and Japan.
Lee’s office said the award – named after the national flower, a pink hibiscus – recognised Trump’s role as a “peacemaker” on the Korean peninsula. He also received a replica of the golden Cheonmachong crown, originally found in a tomb in Gyeongju.
A day earlier in Japan, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi gifted him the late Shinzo Abe’s putter, a golf bag signed by Hideki Matsuyama and a gold-leaf golf ball. #southkorea #southkoreanews #japan #trump
