Belgian Minister Threatens to ‘wipe Moscow Off the Map’ if It Targets Brussels | Firstpost Spotlight
Belgian Defence Minister Theo Francken warned that any Russian missile strike on Brussels would trigger a decisive NATO response, saying, “We would wipe Moscow off the map.” He cautioned against underestimating Russia’s growing military power and defended NATO’s unity under US President Donald Trump. Francken also pointed to China’s role in prolonging the Ukraine war and said Europe’s F-35 fleet would strengthen deterrence. His comments came days after Russia tested its nuclear-powered Burevestnik missile, which President Putin claimed could bypass any defence shield. The warning followed EU plans to build a “drone wall” along its eastern border by 2027.
