ASEAN Summit 2025: Malaysia hands over ASEAN chair to the Philippines
Malaysia Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim officially handed over the ASEAN chair to the Philippines for 2026, after concluding the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (Oct 28).
Philippine president Ferdinand Marcos Jr received the chairmanship gavel in a symbolic handover. In his speech, Marcos said the Philippines would continue to fortify Asean’s peace and security anchors while strengthening prosperity corridors and advancing the people’s empowerment.
