Man flies with jet-powered backpack in China – Like Sci-Fi! 🤖✈️
On October 23 in Hangzhou, a man took to the skies with a jet-powered backpack. Developed by engineer Jiao Bojing’s team and the Huzhou Institute of Zhejiang University, the device weighs just 31 kg, reaches a speed of 100 km/h, and climbs to 1,500 meters.
Using only his arms, the pilot maneuvers with precision and agility. The jetpack was unveiled at the 2025 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2025), and is designed for rescue, inspections, sports, and extreme adventures, offering a glimpse into the future of human flight.
