Police have arrested Wasim, a rioter named in the Sambhal violence case, for allegedly stealing a police inspector’s pistol magazine, cartridges, and a tear gas cylinder. He was captured on CCTV during the violence. Wasim, who had been absconding since the Sambhal violence, was jailed after legal proceedings and on court orders. The police have so far jailed 102 rioters in connection with the Sambhal violence. This is a case under the jurisdiction of the Sambhal Sadar Kotwali police.
