Are non-stick pans safe? This chef says it’s time to switch to cast iron | The Current
TV personality, chef and author Andrew Zimmern wants North Americans to rethink their cookware. He’s on a mission to convince people to ditch their non-stick pans for cast-iron skillets amid growing concern over the chemicals that make pans non-stick. PFAS, or ‘forever chemicals,’ have been linked to certain cancers and health problems affecting the liver, kidneys and immune system. Zimmern says cast-iron pans aren’t just safer — they’re better to cook with.
