In response to a question, Trump said Putin “of course” tried to dissuade him from selling Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine when he asked the Russian leader if he would “mind if I gave a couple of thousand Tomahawks to your opposition.”

Tomahawks are high-precision cruise missiles that fly around 100 feet off the ground, making them hard to detect. They have been used by the U.S. military since the 1980s.
