Madagascar coup: Military chief to be sworn in as president on Friday
The leader of a military unit that’s seized power in Madagascar will be sworn in as president on Friday. It follows weeks of anti-government protests, largely led by the youth. At least 22 people have been killed by military police. Colonel Michael Randrianirina says elections will be held in two years.

Al Jazeera’s Fahmida Miller reports from Antananarivo.
