Speaker says U.S. ‘barreling toward’ prolonged shutdown as ripple effects grow
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson said today the U.S. is “barreling toward one of the longest shutdowns” in history. That stark warning on the 13th day of the shutdown comes as impacts are starting to ripple across the country, with federal workers facing their first week without a paycheck.
