Israel, Hamas complete historic hostage-prisoner exchange in U.S.-mediated ceasefire
Emotions ran high across Israel and the Palestinian territories on Monday as Hamas freed the last 20 surviving Israeli hostages and Israel released nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.
Families of the freed hostages wept and cheered in Tel Aviv as they watched their loved ones return home.
In Ramallah and Gaza, crowds gathered to welcome released prisoners under the U.S.-brokered ceasefire.
The exchange marked a major step toward ending two years of devastating war in Gaza.
