Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, was shaken by multiple explosions in what seems to be a targeted attack, spreading fear and uncertainty in the area. The Taliban spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, confirmed the explosions and stated that the situation is under control while investigations are underway. Residents heard several loud blasts across different parts of Kabul late Thursday night, which caused panic. Witnesses reported at least two strong blasts, followed by the sound of planes overhead.
Early reports indicate that the explosions came from District 8 in eastern Kabul, an area with important government offices and residential neighborhoods. The exact cause of the blasts is still unclear, but initial reports suggest they may have resulted from an airstrike.
