‘Momentous breakthrough’: Trump touts ceasefire deal in wake of agreement
Israel’s government has approved the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal, which will come into effect within 24 hours. The agreement should then see remaining captives exchanged for Palestinian prisoners, and a partial withdrawal of Israeli forces within the next three days. US president Donald Trump says the deal, agreed by Hamas, is a momentous breakthrough in the Middle East.
