Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) must abandon their “separatist agenda,” following a ceasefire announcement by the SDF leadership and Syria’s government. Speaking at a joint press conference in Ankara with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani, Fidan emphasized that the Syrian government is now capable of combating ISIS independently, urging foreign states to change their approach.
