तो वहीं मुख्यमंत्री मोहन चरण माझी ने इस विवाद पर चेतावनी दी है कि असामाजिक तत्वों को छोड़ा नहीं जाएगा, जबकि पूर्व सीएम नवीन पटनायक ने सरकार पर सीधा हमला बोल दिया और कहा कि कटक जैसे शांतिप्रिय शहर को दंगाइयों के हवाले कर देना बीजेपी सरकार की नाकामी है। इस पूरे विवाद से एक बात तो साफ है की कटक की गलियों में सिर्फ मूर्ति का विसर्जन नहीं हुआ, बल्कि भरोसे और भाईचारे का भी विसर्जन हो गया।
