US, Israeli officials will not take part in Gaza ceasefire talks in Egypt on Monday
Officials from Hamas and Israel are set to hold indirect talks in Egypt in the coming hours.
Their goal is to finalize a Gaza ceasefire deal and bring two years of genocide to an end.
US President Donald Trump insists all sides are on board with his 20-point plan that will first see, all Israeli captives released, and Palestinian prisoners set free.
Israeli media is reporting that Israeli and US negotiators will not be joining those efforts until Wednesday at the earliest.
Al Jazeera’s Nour Odeh is monitoring developments from Jordan’s capital Amman.
She’s there because the Israeli government has banned Al Jazeera from reporting inside Israel and in the occupied West Bank.
