Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia highlights India’s tech growth via AI and telecom innovations
Union Minister of Communications and Development of North-East, Jyotiraditya Scindia, recently addressed the press regarding the forthcoming India Mobile Congress (IMC). He highlighted the IMC’s evolution from a national event to a premier global and Asian-centric technology forum. The congress will feature participation from 150 countries, over 7,000 delegates, and 1,500 exhibitors, showcasing advancements in 4G/5G technologies, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing. Scindia emphasized India’s prominent role in digital connectivity, with 944 million broadband users and the world’s second-largest mobile subscriber base. Government initiatives such as the AI Mission and the ₹76,000 crore Semiconductor Mission are driving India’s technological self-reliance, supported by both domestic startups and leading global corporations. Notable milestones include the production of India’s first semiconductor chips and the growth of a robust communication and AI ecosystem. The government remains focused on improving telecom quality through regulatory accountability, underscoring India’s commitment to fostering global digital innovation and economic progress.
