Speaking at the Valdai Forum, President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday (October 2) that the global economy would suffer without Russian oil, warning that prices would jump to over $100 per barrel if its supplies were cut off. US President Donald Trump has urged Europe, India and China to stop buying Russian oil in order to reduce Moscow’s ability to fund its war in Ukraine. Speaking on US calls for India to renounce Russian energy, Putin said, “If India refuses our energy supplies, it will suffer a certain loss … of course, the people of a country like India, believe me, will closely monitor the decisions made by the political leadership and will never allow any humiliation in front of anyone.”
