#AlJazeera ‘Hours ahead very telling on which direction things will go’

It took some time for the Israeli prime minister to react, welcoming and committing to the implementation of the first phase – the release of the Israeli captives.

What does this mean? It means that Israel must prepare its negotiation team to talk details, to talk maps, how the withdrawals will happen, and how the release of Israeli and Palestinian captives will happen.

And in the meantime, the Israeli army is warning people not to return to the north.

So it’s not a ceasefire, it’s not an end to the war, it’s almost a pause – but still very precarious and the hours ahead – as the momentum builds – will be very telling on which direction things will go.
