Two people were killed and three in a combined vehicle and stabbing attack outside a synagogue in Manchester. Police received reports of the incident at 9:31 am (08:31 GMT), with paramedics treating “four members of the public with injuries caused by both the vehicle and stab wounds,” authorities said on X. Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the attack, which took place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, as “all the more horrific.” Starmer has cut short his trip to Denmark and will chair a COBRA meeting in London.
