A Dutch cargo ship came under heavy attack in the Gulf of Aden after Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels fired a cruise missile at the vessel on September 30. Since 2023, the group has escalated maritime attacks in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, targeting more than 100 ships and sinking at least two this year.
