जैसे ही नेतन्याहू ट्रंप से मिलने व्हाइट हाउस पहुंचे वैसे ही उनका खूब अच्छी तरह स्वागत किया तो वहीं इसके बाद ट्रंप और नेतन्याहू ने आपस में हाथ भी मिलाया और साथ ही एक दूसरे की ड्रेसिंग की भी तारीफ की जहां एक तरफ ट्रंप ने नेतन्याहू से कहा कि आप शानदार लग रहे हैं तो वहीं दूसरी तरफ इजरायली प्रधानमंत्री ने भी ट्रंप को कहा कि आप भी बड़िया लग रहे हैं. इसके तुरंत बाद दोनों ने कैमरे पर देखा और मुडकर थम्स अप का इशारा करा.
ट्रंप ने नेतन्याहू से यह मुलाकात तब की जब वो चाहते हैं कि गाजा पर हो रहे हमले बंद हो जाएं और यही कारण है कि ट्रंप इजरायल के साथ अपने संबंध अच्छे बनाने की पूरी कोशिश कर रहे हैं. हालांकि अगर रॉयटर्स की रोपोर्टस की मानें तो बेंजामिन नेतन्याहू ने व्हाइट हाउस से ही कतर के प्रधानमंत्री शेख मोहम्मद बिन अब्दुलरहमान को फोन किया और उनसे दोहा पर इजरायली हमलों के लिए मांफी तक मांगी है.
