बिहार में एक बार फिर जातियों की चर्चा जोरों पर है. राहुल तेजस्वी का फुल फोकस नीतीश के वोटबैंक यानि 36 फीसदी वाले ईबीसी वोटर्स पर है. पटना में राहुल-तेजस्वी ने अति पिछड़ा न्याय संकल्प सम्मेलन किया. वादा किया कि पिछड़े हों या अति पिछड़े उनका हक दिलाना ही महागठबंधन का मेन मोटिव होगा. तेजस्वी और राहुल ने बार बार समाजिक न्याय की बात कही. लेकिन सवाल है कि इनकी राह कितनी आसान होगी, ये सवाल इसलिए क्योंकि पिछला ट्रैक रिकॉर्ड बताता है कि जातिय गोलबंदी की मजबूरी ने महागठबंधन से ईबीसी वोटबैंक को दूर कर दिया. तो क्या 36% वोटबैंक की चाहत में राहुल हो या तेजस्वी यादव अपना फॉर्मूला बदलेंगे, समीकरण बदलेंगे या फिर सरप्लस वोट पाने का दांव निशाने पर लगेगा.

The caste debate is once again in full swing in Bihar. Rahul and Tejashwi are focused squarely on Nitish Kumar’s vote bank, the 36% EBC voters. Rahul and Tejashwi held a “Ati Pichhda Nyay Sankalp Sammelan” in Patna. They promised that securing rights for backward and extremely backward people would be the main motive of the Grand Alliance. Tejashwi and Rahul repeatedly spoke of social justice. But the question is how easy their path will be. This question arises because past track record shows that the compulsion of caste consolidation alienated the EBC vote bank from the Grand Alliance. So, will Rahul or Tejashwi Yadav, in pursuit of the 36% vote bank, change their formula and equations, or will they focus on securing surplus votes?
