Military-run Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger pull out of key international court • FRANCE 24 English
It comes as no surprise that Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso announced on Monday their decision to withdraw from the International Criminal Court. These military-led governments describe the court as a tool of neo-colonial repression. However, the withdrawal will not take effect for at least one year.
