Clashes erupted in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, after a procession was held without permission. The processionists pelted police with stones and tore the uniforms of police officers; the procession was organized by a particular community. Police used batons to restore order, and six people involved in the violence were arrested. The search for other culprits is ongoing.
