Trump vows Putin will “drop out” of Ukraine war if oil prices decline far enough
Asked Thursday about his next steps to compel Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the ongoing war in Ukraine, U.S. President Donald Trump suggested the fall off of oil prices will be the answer.
“If the price of oil comes down, Putin’s going to drop out. He’s going to have no choice,” Trump said, after expressing his disappointment in several NATO members for purchasing Russian oil.
Despite continued global efforts to establish a peace plan between Moscow and Kyiv, Russia has not only continued but intensified its offensive across Ukraine – even recently going a step further and ordering a drone strike inside Poland.
Trump said Putin “has let me down,” and admitted he is yet to secure a promised peace meeting between himself, Putin and Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy.
