#Firstpost India: Cloudburst in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli, 10 Missing; CM Dhami Says Monitoring Situation | N18G

A cloudburst occurred in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district on Wednesday, causing major damage in the Nandanagar Ghat area. At least eight people are missing from the Kuntri Laga Phali area, and six houses have been buried under debris. Two other people are also missing from the Dhurma village. The weather department has predicted more rain in the district. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said he is personally monitoring the situation and that the rescue operation is underway. So far, 21 people have died due to rain-related incidents in the state. Earlier, a cloudburst hit Dehradun district, damaging shops and hotels on Sahastradhara Road. A heavy rain alert has been issued for Dehradun, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar till September 20. The situation has also worsened in Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rain, where the rescue operation Hausal is underway after floods affected the Dharampur area. Meanwhile, heavy rain has caused waterlogging in Hyderabad, Telangana, leading to public inconvenience and traffic disruption. A yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in Telangana till September 21.
