Bank of Canada lowers interest rate to 2.5% | LIVE
Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem will speak on Wednesday after the central bank lowered the interest rate to 2.5 per cent, the first cut since March.
The decision comes after the third straight drop in gross domestic product in June, and recent consumer price index reports that show inflation appears to be stabilizing within the central bank’s one to three per cent target range, which aims to keep inflation increases low and stable.
