BC Premier Eby criticized for awarding speech writing contract to comedian friend
British Columbia Premier David Eby is under fire after his NDP government awarded a lucrative contract to a friend.
Comedian Charlie Demers is being paid $165 an hour to help write speeches for the premier.
Demers could earn up to $150,000 over the first two years, with an option to extend that would boost his total compensation to $450,000.
