India’s first licensed ‘green crackers’ factory makes 100% environment friendly, fragrant crackers
Environment friendly ‘green crackers’ are being made for Diwali in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari. The district promotes the Vocal for Local initiative, empowering 200 women through the green crackers initiative, marking a sustainable Diwali celebration.
A woman working in the factory said, “24 women’s group are working here… Due to this, women will be able to stand on their feet and become empowered… This will not harm the environment either…”
Dhamtari Collector Abinash Mishra said, “Under Local for Vocal, we have started a project in which we are manufacturing green crackers. These are 100% environmentally friendly… This is the first time in India that a license has been received for green crackers… 200 women are working here, and it is becoming a very good role model for livelihood, environmental safety, and sustainable development…”
