Investor Connect Bastar attracts ₹52,000 crore investment, Drives Tourism, MSMEs, Healthcare growth
Bastar is emerging as a new hub of industrial and socio-economic transformation, moving from a region once marked by neglect and underdevelopment to a center of investment, opportunity, and employment. Inclusive growth is visible across industry, education, health, agriculture, and tourism, reshaping Bastar and contributing to Chhattisgarh’s broader development.
The Chhattisgarh government recently organized the “Investor Connect Bastar” event in Jagdalpur, attracting investors from across India, drawn by the region’s rich potential in tourism, culture, millets, forest produce, and medicinal plants. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, along with the Home, Industry, and Forest Ministers, briefed investors on government policies and support.
Bastar, previously affected by Naxalism, now sees major investments, including ₹43,000 crores by NMDC and ₹200 crores for a super-specialty hospital. Total public and private investments of around ₹52,000 crores are expected to generate jobs in MSMEs, services, agriculture, food processing, tourism, and education. Initiatives in healthcare, modern rice mills, and dairy farms are further strengthening local economies and livelihoods.
