‘Sounded like explosion’: Polish recount fear as Russian drones incursion into Poland’s airspace
Local residents of eastern Poland recounted fear of September 09 after alleged Russian drones incursion hit area. This incident has raised alarm as Russian aggression against Ukraine entered NATO member territory. Poland has shot down alleged Russian drones in its air-field on Sept 10 with the support of aircraft from NATO. It was the first time a western member alliance of NATO fired a weapon during Russia’s war in Ukraine. Polish PM Tusk told Parliament it was “the closest we have been to open conflict since World War Two.” As per officials, Polish F-16 fighter jets, Dutch F-35s, Italian AWACS & and NATO mid-air refuelling aircraft rushed in an operation to shoot down drones entering Poland.
