Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman spoke about the future of India–China trade ties and the need to make Chinese markets more accessible to Indian companies. She was speaking to Network18’s Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi in an exclusive interview. “There’s just a lot of work to be done in that area. There’s no hiding it. Lot of work to be done. We need to have trade conversations, market access conversations and non tariff barriers conversations with the Chinese. Unless, there’s a true engagement and not a procrastinating engagement, you may talk as much as you want on these issues, I have done it myself, and to have a conclusion arrived at takes a lot of time with the Chinese,” the Indian minister said.
