#Firstpost India, China Can Return to Pre-Galwan Ties, Says Piyush Goyal
Union Minister Piyush Goyal spoke about India’s “new-found friend” and addressed whether India can trust China in an exclusive interview with Network18’s Group Editor-in-Chief, Rahul Joshi. Goyal said, “We have always had good relations over many years with China. Prime Minister Modi has visited China earlier. Xi Jinping has come to India. Unfortunately, the incidents post-Galwan had brought a little bit of ice to the relationship and created a hiatus. Now that we have been largely able to resolve the issues of disagreement with China, I think it’s very natural that we should also reset our ties, take them to the pre-Galwan level. And I think attending an SCO summit, where many countries were all getting together, had a multilateral dimension also.” He added that Prime Minister Modi’s participation at the SCO signalled “a thaw… to get back into a better relationship.”
