Blocked roads and critical shortages hamper Afghanistan earthquake relief efforts: OCHA
Hundreds more bodies have been recovered in northeastern Afghanistan after Sunday’s powerful earthquake.
The death toll has now passed 2,200.
Rescue and recovery workers are searching for survivors in remote villages, despite a number of strong aftershocks.
The World Food Programme says its funding and aid supplies are running out, warning food stocks could be exhausted within weeks.

The epicentre was near the city of Jalalabad.
The magnitude 6 quake was relatively shallow and caused extensive damage.

Al Jazeera’s Ali Hashem has this update from northeast Afghanistan.

Amy Martin is Head of the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Afghanistan.
She says rescue efforts are hampered by blocked roads and limited supplies while the death toll continues to climb.
