#Firstpost LIVE: Xi Jinping Hosts Trilateral Talks with Russian, Mongolian Leaders in China Before WW2 Parade
Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh met on Tuesday (September 2) in Beijing on the eve of a grand military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two.
In his opening remarks, Putin said he hoped the talks would be “open and substantive.”
More than 20 world leaders including Putin and reclusive North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will gather in Beijing for the September 3 “Victory Day” event marking 80 years since Japan’s defeat at the end of World War Two.
