3 dead, 19 injured in Ukraine’s Kharkiv in Russian blitz ahead of Trump-Zelenskyy meet in Washington
A Russian air attack on a residential area in Kharkiv overnight on Monday (August 18) killed three people, including a toddler, and injured 19 as the United States presses Kyiv to take a quick deal to end a war Moscow started. A drone attack killed the two-year-old boy in Ukraine’s second-largest city early on Monday, after a ballistic missile strike the previous night.The number of the injured from the Kharkiv attack was likely to increase said Amil Omarov, head of Kharkiv region prosecutor’s office. Kharkiv, in northeastern Ukraine near the border with Russia, has been the target of regular Russian drone and missile attacks since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022.
