In Israel, tens of thousands gathered in Tel Aviv to demand the release of hostages held in Gaza, in one of the largest protests since the war began 22 months ago. Families of hostages led the demonstrations, calling for a comprehensive deal and an end to fighting. Protesters blocked highways, lit bonfires, and rallied outside politicians’ homes. Businesses shut in solidarity, while police arrested at least 38 people. About 50 hostages remained in Gaza, though only 20 were believed alive.
