In Serbian capital Belgrade on Thursday (July 14) thousands of protesters and ruling SNS supporters clashed on a main boulevard, throwing flares and firecrackers. Riot police charged anti-government demonstrators and used tear gas to disperse them.In Novi Sad, police and supporters of President Aleksandar Vučić were absent as protesters vandalised SNS offices, smashing windows, throwing out furniture, and splashing paint. Daily protests across Serbia, sparked by the deaths of 16 people in a railway station roof collapse last November, have dented the popularity of Vučić and the SNS.
