Hindustan Times Mojtaba Not the Supreme Leader? Iran’s Power Structure May Be More Confusing Than Trump Thought

According to a New York Times report published on April 23, Ali Khamenei used to dominate major state decisions personally, including war, peace and negotiations, while Mojtaba Khamenei’s rule appears more diffuse and board-like. The paper, citing interviews with six senior Iranian officials, said generals now play an unusually central role in decision-making, especially as Mojtaba remains out of public view and difficult to access after the recent strikes.
