China, Thailand agree to boost effort in fighting transnational crime | East Asia Tonight 24 April
China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi is in Thailand for the second stop of his Southeast Asia tour, where he agreed with his Thai counterpart to boost collaboration in fighting transnational crime and cyber scams. Also on East Asia Tonight, South Korean prosecutors seek a 30-year jail term for former president Yoon Suk Yeol, over his alleged role in sending drones to North Korea to create a pretext for him to declare martial law. Meanwhile Japan’s government warns that consumers will feel the fallout from the war on Iran through higher energy bills as early as June. In China, the country’s largest vehicle makers and tech suppliers gather at the world’s biggest auto show, AutoChina, to showcase their latest innovations.
