Municipal Police Officer To Be Charged In Killing Of Acting Corporal Eversley
Police are saying no one is above the law.
This, as a 28-year-old Municipal Police officer is expected to be charged today, Wednesday, in connection with the murder of Acting Corporal Anuska Eversley, who was killed on Sunday at the San Fernando Municipal Police Station at King’s Wharf.
The officer is also expected to face charges of robbery with violence, trafficking in firearms, and possession of ammunition, following advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, SC.
The investigation has been coordinated by Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro, along with senior officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, and is being led by the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region III.
Commissioner Guevarro praised the swift and meticulous work of investigators, saying that decisive action is being taken to uphold the integrity of the Police Service and bring justice to the victim’s family and colleagues.
Investigations into the matter are continuing.
