A notable candidate is Padmaja Venugopal, the daughter of legendary Congress leader and former Chief Minister K Karunakaran, who is contesting from the Thrissur constituency. Joining her from the Left camp is CC Mukundan, an ousted CPI legislator and former MLA, who is seeking a mandate on a BJP ticket from Nattika. Other significant entrants include K Ajith, a former CPI MLA contesting from Vaikom, and BS Anoop, a former Dalit Congress district president and 2021 UDF candidate, who is now the BJP’s face in Chirayinkeezhu.
